School Year 2021-2022
Hand hygiene is one of the components in the plan to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. We will prioritize hand hygiene for all staff and students.
Students will continue with current hand washing and respiratory etiquette. Nursing will provide teaching for students about sneezing or coughing protocols and information will be provided for the community about symptoms which mandate staff or students remain at home and get tested for COVID. Protocols will be updated as DPH guidelines are modified.
Hand sanitizer will be available in every classroom, office and other spaces that may be occupied. Students and staff will be encouraged to wash their hands or use hand sanitizer after using the bathroom, before and after eating, using communal materials, entering the building or classroom and other periods of transition. Gloves will be worn for any food service, cleaning, or health related activities in addition to hand hygiene.
The EWPS will have hand sanitizer in all high traffic areas, school and office entrances, classrooms that don’t have sinks in them, in the cafeterias, gyms, etc.
Please know that guidance regarding health and safety measures changes periodically and updates will be shared with families.
As of today, staff and families are welcome to make donations of Purell in accordance with the Green Cleaning Policy.
