We were pleased to welcome students in grades K, 1, 2, 5, 6, 9 and 12 back to 4 day per week in-school learning. Our plan is to have the remaining students return to 4 days on Nov 16. This is only for students who have chosen to attend in-person; if you have opted out, you do not need to attend in-person learning.
As you all are aware, the cases in Connecticut, and in East WIndsor are increasing. You can find updates regarding the status of COVID cases and other related information for the Town of East Windsor on the town website at: https://www.eastwindsor-ct.gov/home/pages/updates-first-selectman-jason-bowsza.
The numbers of cases in the EW schools has remained at only 1 as of today, so at this time we are not planning to make any changes to our schedule or plans to increase in person learning. However, please be aware, that I may change that plan if circumstances in the town or schools change significantly. I encourage families to have a plan should we need to change our in person learning schedule or require your child, a class, grade, building etc… to quarantine for 14 days. Thank you for your assistance in planning for all possibilities.
Please find attached the “sick child protocol” for East Windsor. This is the process for any student who is ill during the pandemic. We suggest all families take a minute to review this protocol and reach out to your child’s school if you have any questions: student sick protocol
We would like to remind everyone of the travel advisory before you make plans for Thanksgiving. East Windsor is requiring the 14 day quarantine, following advice from our local health district and due to the increasing numbers of local and state-wide COVID cases. Students who need to quarantine will be able to access remote learning during that time.
Finally, the winter sports season has been postponed pending updated recommendations from DPH. We will provide updates as soon as they are available but at this time, the Nov 21 start date for winter sports has been postponed.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
